Job Description

We are currently looking for a Commercial Motor Broker Support Handler to join our professional and welcoming team in Orpington. Brown and Brown offer high quality, specialist products to Personal and Commercial clients throughout the UK. We have sustained one of the highest customer satisfaction and retention rates within the industry by focusing on the precise needs of our clients. You will be joining a busy, proactive team of brokers who specialise in Commercial Insurance. Brown and Brown Insurance focuses heavily on training and development and a full induction and training plan will be provided to successful applicants.

Job Responsibility

  • New business quoting, negotiating, broking and administration - converting new business enquires in line with, or in excess of, company targets
  • Renewal negotiating, broking and administration - converting renewal business in line with, or excess of, company targets
  • Midterm adjustments & administration
  • Incoming and outbound call handing - new and existing clients
  • Maintaining day to day compliance procedures for FCA regulation
  • Effectively manage individual diary
  • Cross selling other insurance products

Requirements

  • Previous experience within administration and customer service
  • Desire to be part of the insurance industry
  • Previous experience in insurance account management or broker support would be desired but not essential

  • Help shape underwriting appetite, guidelines, pricing frameworks, and portfolio strategy, ensuring alignment with Admiral Business objectives and market opportunities
  • Partner with Product, Claims, Pricing, Distribution, Operations, and Data teams to evolve our propositions and respond to changing customer and broker needs
  • Build strong relationships with brokers and partners, acting as a trusted technical expert and helping to grow business within our underwriting appetite
  • Monitor portfolio performance, market trends, and loss ratios, using insight and data to inform underwriting decisions and identify opportunities for growth and optimisation
  • Collaborate with Pricing and Data teams to refine risk selection, enhance portfolio performance, and support profitable growth
  • Support the development of underwriting capability through coaching, training, and knowledge sharing across the team
  • Ensure underwriting activity aligns with governance, compliance, and risk appetite requirements
