Drive major projects as Commercial Manager, lead contracts, manage risks, negotiate with clients & shape the success of urban & regional developments. The Commercial Manager is a pivotal role in ensuring Keller’s commercial and contractual success across our urban and regional projects. You will manage commercial risks, provide contract management support, and work closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with both industry standards and internal governance. This role involves leading client negotiations, providing guidance on procurement, supporting tender processes, and ensuring compliance with company and legal requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Review, assess, and negotiate client contracts, identifying and managing risks, and providing guidance on contract adherence, change management, and claims
Lead commercial aspects of tenders, including risk and opportunity assessments, and liaise with insurance brokers on project-specific requirements
Advise operational teams on commercial best practices and procurement, ensuring compliance with company policies and governance
Manage disputes with clients, subcontractors, or suppliers and coordinate with external legal advisers as required
Maintain strong stakeholder relationships, lead client negotiations, and represent Keller to clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
Support project teams through Rights and Obligations summaries and participate in kick-off meetings to ensure commercial clarity
Ensure work is conducted safely and in alignment with HSEQ policies and legislative requirements
Requirements:
Tertiary qualifications in Law, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management
Proven experience reviewing, amending, and negotiating contracts
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret contractual and legal issues
Skilled negotiator with excellent stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to mentor engineers and supervisors in commercial best practice
Strong risk awareness and ability to prioritise risk in a construction environment
Clear written and verbal communication with confident presentation skills
Proactive, independent, and capable of building trusted relationships across clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
