CLC, part of Axis CLC, is a national maintenance and refurbishment provider. Our Transmission Services division plays a critical role in supporting the UK’s energy infrastructure, specialising in the maintenance and painting of high-voltage pylons and associated assets. We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to support our Transmission Services division, working closely with the Divisional Director, operational teams and finance colleagues to ensure all contracts and frameworks are managed in a commercially compliant and controlled manner. This is a senior role with national responsibility, providing commercial leadership across live contracts, bids and tenders. You will support estimating and cost modelling, maintain strong financial governance, and ensure clear, accurate commercial reporting to support decision-making and continuous improvement. The role will involve regular travel across the UK, with flexible working arrangements available in line with business needs.
Job Responsibility:
Provide commercial leadership across Transmission Services contracts, frameworks, bids and tenders
Identify, manage and mitigate commercial risk and opportunity
Support estimating, cost modelling and bid strategy with operational and bid teams
Maintain strong financial control, ensuring alignment between contractual performance and internal reporting
Ensure contract compliance, including the identification and recovery of variations
Deliver accurate budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting
Develop and use effective management information, dashboards and KPIs
Build strong client and internal stakeholder relationships through clear, evidence-based reporting
Requirements:
Extensive experience in commercial contract management and financial control
A proven track record supporting major contracts or frameworks within infrastructure, utilities or specialist services
Strong understanding of contract mechanisms, risk management and commercial governance
The ability to interpret and manage large volumes of complex technical and commercial data
A resilient, self-motivated approach with the ability to operate autonomously within a national team
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Nice to have:
Experience within electricity transmission and distribution, overhead lines or tower painting
