As the designated second-in-charge (2IC) to the Senior Commercial Manager, you will provide critical leadership across day-to-day operations while driving the long-term sustainability, growth, and operational capability of both the Bukmak and BBSNT businesses.
Job Responsibility
Planning and delivering projects from pre-construction through to handover, while managing scope, program, budget, quality, and safety
Monitoring operational and commercial performance, identifying efficiencies, and managing project margins
Leading business development activities, identifying new revenue streams, and managing tender preparations and contract acquisitions
Building and maintaining strong strategic relationships with clients, partners, internal stakeholders, and remote communities
Providing strong leadership, mentoring, and guidance to your team members while supporting career pathways for First Nations Peoples
Undertaking regular travel to Bukmak and BBSNT worksites via vehicle or light aircraft to review works and provide monthly reporting
Assisting with strategic planning and stepping into the Senior Commercial Manager role as required to ensure leadership continuity
Requirements
Demonstrated experience in construction, maintenance, or commercial operations with a solid understanding of project delivery
Proven experience in successful business development, revenue generation, and tendering, including government contract results
Strong financial management capabilities, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
Well-developed communication, negotiation, organisational, and problem-solving skills
A proven commitment to workplace health, safety, and regulatory compliance
The ability to provide effective mentorship and build workforce capability within an inclusive environment
A valid builder's licence for the Northern Territory, or an interstate licence that is readily able to transfer to the NT
Ability and willingness to travel regularly to remote ALPA communities via vehicle (including unsealed roads) or light aircraft
Ability to meet the safety requirements of third-party aviation providers, which include a passenger weight limit of up to 140kg
Nice to have
Experience working in remote First Nations communities
Knowledge of Northern Territory government contracts
