Job Responsibility

  • Drive extraordinary growth and brand positioning, maximizing sales and encouraging an excellent shopping experience across all channels
  • Strengthening the competitive position of IKEA in a market, increasing penetration and market share
  • Work in partnership with all stakeholders, to ensure the continued success of the IKEA Concept and to ensure commercial direction, processes and tools are effectively implemented in most cost-efficient way
  • Contribute, create and implement store strategies and actions, steering the business in an omnichannel retail environment
  • Lead and inspire your team, to optimize and improve the shopping experience, to secure customers satisfaction and increased sales and profitability in your store
  • Balance between efficiency in operation, well-staffed with competent co-workers, customer service and commerciality to secure sales
  • Show home furnishing solutions, local relevance and inspiring home furnishing ideas
  • Serve as a well-qualified home furnishing specialist and as the leader in life at home
  • Secure a great Customer shopping experience
  • Accountable for leading the store commercial team, Selling, Com-In and Logistics and working in collaboration with the Food and Customer Relation team to secure a seamless and omnichannel shopping experience
  • Create, deliver and lead the omnichannel commercial action plan and the commercial calendar for the store taking input from the team and the matrix managers to ensure the store supports the achievement of the agreed goals for the country maximizing sales and generating sustained long-term profitability
  • Drive sales and optimize profitability in the store using the knowledge of the range, local market, competition and customers
  • Analysis the store's commercial performance and enables the IKEA mechanical sales system to work efficiently and ensure continue success of the IKEA Concept
  • Contribute interdependently to the creation and implementation of the store business plan with knowledge of people's life at home, of your local market potential and consumer shopping behaviors
  • Ensure that customer insights are translated into locally relevant, functional, aesthetic and commercial home furnishing solutions that exceed customer expectations and reflect home furnishing the IKEA way
  • Ensure a better understanding of the local customer, market and community to enable a better local connection to the store experience, solutions and commercial calendar
  • Initiate and facilitate all the processes of the working method for presenting the IKEA range that lead the store team to a relevant, sustainable and inspiring range presentation, an optimal store layout and effective and efficient store communication
  • Responsible for identifying, recruiting and developing talent to secure a diverse, competent, high performing team and future succession
  • Ensure that the team works in compliance with the IKEA code of Conduct and the IKEA Employment Standards
  • Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers
  • Ensure you have the right number of co-workers in the right place at the right time to run the store successfully and ensure co-workers are ready and available to serve customers and help them to buy
  • Ensure your team members understand the multichannel retail environment they are working in and know how to use this in the best and most commercial way for different customers
  • Analyze the qualitative performance of your store using IKEA research tools to improve the IKEA mechanical sales system and easy buying process through all channels
  • Follow up your financial goals, KPIs and costs, and act on deviations
  • Motivate and develop team members by agreeing clear goals, expectations and conducting follow-ups
  • Secure a competent and high-performing team and team leader who inspire and empower every coworker to recognize and understand their contribution
  • Understand the IKEA social and environmental commitments and know how you can contribute to sustainability

Requirements

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involving strategic planning, resource allocation and leadership technique
  • Proven track record of leading and developing co-workers and leaders in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Experience of leading and developing people with good results
  • Strong desire to deliver excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of physical inventory methods and schedules, merchandise recovery standards
  • Analytical and numerical skills
  • Strong understanding of what excellent customer service looks like
  • Experience of setting and implementing action plans, budgets and following up goals
  • Ability to think, lead and act strategically
  • Understand profit and loss and how it affects the results through departmental actions
  • Experience gained in a shopkeeper and CAM role in the IKEA store with proven results
