My client are a leading solar Independent Power Producer (IPP) dedicated to accelerating the global shift to sustainable energy. Job Responsibility:

  • Work with the business development team on new solar and battery opportunities undertaking project appraisal modelling as required
  • provide insight on project returns, and, where appropriate, make suggestions on how returns can be improved
  • Lead on CPPA negotiations and internal forecasting/modelling
  • Monitor performance under long term PPAs and any merchant or partial merchant exposure
  • Lead on the relationship with LCCC in respect of CfD's
  • Maintain and administer the investment appraisal model in line with external market conditions (e.g., power prices, interest rate assumptions, etc.)
  • Lead on the creation of investment committee papers, taking input from other departments where necessary
  • Track project IRR's seeking opportunities to protect or enhance IRR's
  • Prepare periodic reports identifying IRR movements and underlying causes
  • Assist in financial due diligence on M&A opportunities
  • Provide insight to the Finance team to assist with the monthly variance analysis commentary

Requirements:

  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Deep understanding of renewable energy support mechanisms including PPA's, CfD's, ROC's & REGO's
  • Commercial CPPA/CfD/RTM experience including contract execution
  • Evaluating financial and business indicators to translate data into actionable information
  • Building constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of stakeholders
  • Proven track record of reporting deliverables to senior stakeholders
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills and time management
  • CPA, ACCA or ACA qualified
