Liberty Group (part of WPS) is growing and this is your chance to be part of it! We’re looking for a commercially driven experienced quantity surveyor to join our expanding Renewables division, delivering decarbonisation and energy efficiency projects across the South. This is a high-impact role where you’ll help drive business growth, shape commercial strategy, and play a key part in scaling a rapidly developing portfolio. Working closely with operational leadership, you’ll oversee multiple projects while driving profitability, managing risk, and building strong client and supply chain relationships. Projects include a mix of construction-led decarbonisation works, renewables installations and long-term maintenance contracts across heating, compliance and property services.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead commercial activities across a portfolio of renewable and decarbonisation projects (pre and post contract)
  • Drive profit, cash flow, and overall commercial performance
  • Manage risk & opportunity processes to maximise contract value
  • Oversee contract mobilisation, delivery, and final accounts
  • Build and maintain strong client, stakeholder, and supply chain relationships
  • Support and develop junior commercial team members
  • Ensure robust governance, reporting and compliance

Requirements

  • 8+ years’ experience in Quantity Surveying / Commercial roles
  • Strong commercial acumen across contracts, cost control and procurement
  • NEC, TPC, NHF, JCT and similar standard contract forms experience
  • Property services building maintenance contracts experience (term repairs, maintenance & compliance)
  • Strong commercial awareness and cost control experience
  • Experience working across planned and reactive works
  • Experience in social housing or maintenance contracting is highly desirable
  • Construction projects including Design & Build experience
  • Experience within construction, property services or renewables environments
  • Background in social housing, retrofit, or planned works programmes (desirable)
  • Exposure to renewables such as PV or ASHP (desirable)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and influence stakeholders
  • Strong negotiation and client-facing skills
  • Experience mentoring and managing a team
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar (RICS support available) (Desirable)

Nice to have

  • Experience in social housing or maintenance contracting
  • Exposure to renewables such as PV or ASHP
