Job Description:

Our Audit & Assurance team is growing as we support an increasing portfolio of large, complex and commercially sensitive UK infrastructure programmes. We’re now looking for a Cost & Commercial Assurance Consultant to help deliver high-quality audit and assurance work and strengthen our capability as the function expands. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Audit & Assurance Lead and wider team, carrying out cost, contract and commercial assurance reviews that give clients confidence in their project performance. You’ll analyse large datasets, apply structured audit methodologies and produce clear, evidence-based reports. Alongside delivery, you’ll play a part in shaping how our service evolves—sharing insights, supporting colleagues and helping us continuously improve. You’ll join a community with deep expertise across the UK’s most significant infrastructure programmes. We offer hybrid working, development opportunities and a culture that values integrity, diversity and evidence-driven thinking. The role includes national travel, typically two to three nights per week.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver cost, commercial and contract assurance reviews on major infrastructure projects
  • Analyse financial datasets, ledgers and evidence to produce clear audit findings
  • Use IDEA audit software to support consistent and efficient delivery
  • Prepare high-quality audit reports with actionable recommendations
  • Support planning, reporting and knowledge development within the team
  • Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and mentoring across the team

Requirements:

  • Experience in audit, cost verification or commercial assurance within construction or infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts from a cost/commercial perspective
  • Confidence working with large datasets and financial information
  • Excellent audit report writing and analytical skills
  • Strong IT capabilities, including audit software and advanced Excel
  • Background in QS, commercial management, accounting or audit, supported by a relevant degree
  • Professional membership (RICS, CIMA, ACCA, AAT or similar) preferred
  • High integrity, attention to detail and a completer–finisher mindset
  • Flexibility to travel nationally (2-3 days per week)
What we offer:
  • Hybrid working
  • Development opportunities
