Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Commercial Loans Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring commercial loan portfolios while ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This position is based in Los Angeles, California, and offers an opportunity to contribute to the success of a prominent financial services organization.

Job Responsibility

  • Organize and prepare loan files for sorting, scanning, and uploading to the imaging center
  • Maintain loan files, both physical and digital, ensuring they are always ready for audits
  • Create and update borrower and guarantor profiles, including reporting and financial covenants, in the loan monitoring system
  • Assist in maintaining and updating customer profiles and covenants based on credit approvals and loan agreements
  • Support Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers by addressing loan monitoring process inquiries and resolving system-related issues
  • Generate periodic portfolio management and monitoring reports using the loan tracking system
  • Monitor insurance requirements for loans, ensuring new policies are obtained and existing policies are renewed
  • Review executed loan and credit documents to verify proper signatures, dates, and initials
  • Facilitate loan closings and coordinate with compliance and operations teams for loan approvals, bookings, and fundings
  • Collaborate with auditors and ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in loan servicing and portfolio monitoring
  • Proficiency in computer applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial loan documentation and closing processes is preferred
  • Familiarity with financial systems such as Moody’s and ERP solutions is a plus
  • Knowledge of accounting functions, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience with auditing, month-end close processes, and accounts payable/receivable operations
