A well-established national law firm with multiple offices across the U.S. is seeking an Attorney to join its Orange County team. The firm is highly regarded in the commercial litigation space, representing developers, contractors, and global corporations on complex domestic and international matters. This Attorney position offers the opportunity to work closely with a supportive managing partner on sophisticated complex litigation. The Attorney will gain hands-on experience in complex disputes and is well-suited for an Attorney interested in transitioning into commercial construction litigation from another defense litigation background. The Irvine-based team is collegial, stable, and known for strong mentorship and substantive exposure early on.
Job Responsibility:
Draft and argue law and motion, including dispositive motions and case strategy filings
Manage written discovery, including propounding and responding to discovery requests
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex litigation issues
Assist with depositions, hearings, and trial preparation in construction-related disputes
Collaborate with partners and clients on litigation strategy and case development
Handle surety-related matters and support ongoing commercial litigation cases
Requirements:
Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar
1+ year of litigation experience
Experience with law and motion, discovery, and legal research
Ability to work onsite in Irvine 4 days per week
Nice to have:
Experience with surety-related matters
Interest in transitioning into commercial construction litigation from another defense litigation background
