The Commercial Lines Customer Service Associate is responsible for retaining and servicing an assigned book of business through effective account management and strong client relationships. This role supports the daily servicing of commercial accounts, including processing policies, endorsements, and renewals, issuing certificates of insurance, and responding to client inquiries. The Associate collaborates with team members, vendors, and carriers to deliver exceptional service, identify coverage gaps, and support new business and account growth opportunities.
Job Responsibility:
Retaining and servicing an assigned book of business through effective account management and strong client relationships
Supporting the daily servicing of commercial accounts, including processing policies, endorsements, and renewals, issuing certificates of insurance, and responding to client inquiries
Collaborating with team members, vendors, and carriers to deliver exceptional service, identify coverage gaps, and support new business and account growth opportunities
Day-to-day account management of an assigned book of business
Building courteous and successful relationships with clients, vendors and carriers to improve client retention
Identifying gaps in coverage and consult leadership or client advisor of options to advise the client
Assisting in the renewal process for all assigned and prospective clients
Assisting in the review of internal compliance and client disclosure requirements, policies, endorsements and certificates
Assisting in growing the assigned book of business through account rounding and referrals
Supporting marketing and sales teams as needed
Documenting renewal, sales, and insurance operations compliance documents into the sales management database
Attending internal and client meetings, as needed
Following brokerage guidelines, policies and procedures
Requirements:
RIBO license required (in good standing)
Knowledge of insurance coverages, contracts, and state regulations where business is conducted
Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Windows environment, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Power Point
Proficient knowledge use of office equipment
5+ years’ experience in the insurance industry, or a related field
College Degree in a business-related field. (Preferred)
Professional Designation specific to area of specialty (i.e., CAIB, CIP). (Preferred)
