Alera Group is looking for a Commercial Lines Account Manager to join their team in Columbia, South Carolina. Job Responsibility:

  • Serve as the primary client service contact for multiple accounts, managing renewals, completing Acord applications, and submitting thorough carrier applications
  • Analyze carrier quotations, prepare professional proposals with premium/rate/exposure comparisons, and conduct loss analysis, loss ratio, and loss trending studies
  • Review endorsements for accuracy, process premium audits, assist clients with disputes, and ensure compliance with COI requirements by ordering necessary endorsements
  • Prepare and deliver timely binders, invoices, certificates of insurance, and secure premium financing when needed, ensuring accurate policy issuance and delivery
  • Utilize company systems and procedures to manage workload, lead monthly renewal meetings with producers and account managers, and stay updated on underwriting requirements
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to team members, lead or support special projects, and complete assigned training goals while maintaining industry certifications
  • Identify and act on account rounding and cross-sell opportunities, proactively supporting business growth while performing additional responsibilities as needed

Requirements:

  • 5+ years industry experience including at least 3 years at the Account Manager level
  • Applicable state P&C Agents License
  • Industry-related certifications expected
  • College degree preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Agency Management System Experience. AMS Sagitta and ImageRight are preferred
  • Strong technical coverage knowledge of commercial lines
