Job Description

As Babbel embarks on an exciting new stage of its development, the legal department is looking for a U.S.-trained legal counsel to support Babbelonians. As a Commercial Lawyer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our business teams by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements. You will provide practical legal advice to internal stakeholders while helping to identify and mitigate legal risks.

Job Responsibility

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements including service agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs, licensing agreements, and partnership arrangements
  • Advise business teams on legal implications of commercial decisions and operations
  • Support the development and implementation of contract templates and playbooks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal compliance across the organization
  • Assist with due diligence for potential business partnerships and transactions
  • Help identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks
  • Stay current on relevant legal developments and industry trends

Requirements

  • A US law degree (and admission to practice)
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial law, preferably in-house or at a law firm with corporate clients
  • Strong understanding of contract law and commercial transactions
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment
  • Fluency in English (oral and written).
