We are looking for an experienced real estate attorney to join a growing legal team in Chicago, Illinois. This position focuses on supporting commercial leasing matters through contract preparation, careful review of lease language, and direct participation in business negotiations. The ideal candidate will bring strong legal judgment, confidence in managing complex documents, and the ability to partner effectively with internal stakeholders on property-related matters.
Job Responsibility
Prepare, review, and revise commercial lease agreements and related real estate documents to support business objectives.
Lead negotiations on lease provisions, working to balance legal risk with practical operational needs.
Advise internal partners on leasing matters, contract interpretation, and real estate-related legal considerations.
Analyze proposed terms, identify areas of exposure, and recommend clear, business-focused solutions.
Support the legal department with drafting and review of ancillary documents connected to leasing transactions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help move real estate matters forward efficiently and accurately.
Requirements
Juris Doctor degree and active license to practice law in good standing.
Demonstrated experience in commercial real estate law with a strong focus on leasing matters.
Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate lease agreements and related legal documents.
Strong legal writing skills, including experience preparing motions, briefs, or other formal legal materials.
Familiarity with litigation support activities such as discovery and document analysis is preferred.
Excellent communication, issue-spotting, and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced legal environment.
