Commercial Leasing Attorney

• Draft, negotiate, and revise commercial leasing agreements and related legal documents
• Provide guidance on intricate lease provisions, assessing legal and business risks for clients
• Represent clients in lease negotiations and assist in resolving disputes
• Coordinate with clients, brokers, and internal teams to ensure smooth lease transaction processes
• Stay informed on real estate laws, leasing regulations, and emerging industry trends
• Mentor entry-level attorneys and paralegals in lease preparation and execution
• Manage multiple leasing matters simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and timely responses
• Offer strategic legal advice designed to align with client objectives and risk tolerance
• Build and nurture strong relationships to support client development efforts

• Must be licensed in Washington, D.C. or have ability to waive into DC
• At least 5 years of experience specializing in commercial real estate leasing
• Extensive knowledge of office and retail leasing, particularly from the landlord perspective
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one state bar
• Proficiency in legal drafting, research, and negotiation
• Strong communication skills, capable of engaging both legal and non-legal audiences
• Proven ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Experience working with clients lacking in-house real estate counsel
• Familiarity with managing national leasing portfolios and institutional clients is advantageous
