Job Responsibility:

  • Lead strategic operational commercial oversight of major infrastructure cabling and data centre projects
  • Drive cost planning, cost/value reconciliations, margin forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Challenge and validate project financials
  • Implement consistent use of cost coding, financial tracking tools
  • Line‑manage, coach, mentor and develop their team of QSs
  • Define team objectives, governance standards, and delivery expectations
  • Oversee quality of QS outputs
  • Conduct commercial audits
  • Establish and lead monthly commercial project reviews
  • Actively manage preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules
  • Manage procurement of main subcontract guarantees, warranties, insurances and bonds
  • Supporting complex QS-led commercial components of subcontracts
  • Ensure accurate preparation and validation of variations and cost adjustments
  • Support commercial risk identification and mitigation
  • Maximise cash position
  • Act as senior commercial and project representative in discussions with clients
  • Provide commercial assurance to support client confidence
  • Lead or support presentations during bid or project review cycles
  • Support development of global commercial frameworks
  • Identify commercial process gaps and drive improvements
  • Provide insights to the Global Commercial Director.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in senior QS or commercial leadership gained within the construction sector, ideally with infrastructure cabling or data centre environments
  • Expert financial acumen: cost planning, forecasting, budget management, cost/value reconciliation
  • Strong stakeholder influencing skills
  • confident in presenting commercial insights to senior executives and clients
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a multi‑discipline QS team
  • High competence in identifying commercial risks and shaping mitigation actions
  • Familiarity with global commercial governance structures and scalable commercial frameworks
  • Ability to collaborate closely with Programmers, Project Managers, to align financial and operational decisions.
