Job Description

The Commercial Insurance Technical Assistant supports the team by retrieving and processing policy documents, endorsements, cancellations, and certificates while ensuring accurate data entry and file maintenance. This role also handles billing inquiries, maintains follow-up systems, and provides administrative support to keep operations running smoothly.

Job Responsibility

  • Retrieve policy documents from carrier websites for new business, cancellations, endorsements, audits, non-pay & reinstatement notices
  • Policy checking for new business, re-writes & endorsements
  • Process endorsement and certificate requests as received daily
  • Process cancellations, non-pay notices & reinstatements
  • Support in the processing binders of insurance, policies, and audits
  • Handle billing inquiries
  • Maintain account files in an orderly sequence according to established procedures
  • Enter all required data into the system to maintain current file data
  • Maintain a follow-up system for correspondence/requests
  • Provide back-up to other Commercial Assistants
  • Scanning and other clerical tasks, as assigned

Requirements

  • Active Property & Casualty license, or willingness to obtain a license within your first year of employment
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 year of insurance experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 is required
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills are required
