In this role, you’ll play a key part in estimating costs, preparing bids, and generating HVAC designs for commercial building projects. Job Responsibility:
Estimate costs for MEP systems on commercial new construction and renovation projects
Prepare cost-effective conceptual designs on design/build projects that meet client expectations and budget constraints
Create sketches of designs to be drafted or 3D modeled by BIM/CAD operators
Carefully review and co-develop design documents for execution at various project stages
Prepare written proposals and effectively communicate the proposal and scope of work to the customer
Negotiate with clients and ensure adherence to project specifications and timelines
Meet with project stakeholders, including owners, general contractors, and architects
Collaborate with internal teams to achieve individual and company-wide goals
Work with other estimators to share resources and coordinate efforts
Requirements:
5-10 years of experience in Commercial HVAC trade design and estimating
Experience in understanding project blueprints, design drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time/cost/equipment/labor/material estimates for projects and services
Ability to visualize and execute value engineering of design
Valid driver’s license
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience with mechanical, plumbing, and gas specifications, calculations, and sizing
Knowledge of general construction practices
Knowledge of the International Mechanical Code, International Building Code, and other codes relevant to plumbing and mechanical design
Nice to have:
Experience with Bluebeam or Autodesk products is a plus
Experience with Trimble Estimation is a plus
