Job Description:

I am currently working on behalf of a large FM and maintenance company, seeking an experienced and qualified commercial gas engineer. This will be a static based role covering commercial site in an around Crawley surrounding. Ideally the candidate has experience working within commercial environments carrying out all areas of commercial gas maintenance and minor remedial tasks. ... As a Gas Engineer the post holder is responsible for planning and carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs to Commercial/Industrial boilers and completing inspection and gas safety check certificates.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance is carried out in line with task schedules, frequencies and industry best practices
  • Identify any defects found and provide parts list and estimated timescales to complete the defects
  • Ensure Boilers are transported and handled in accordance with current Health & Safety Regulations
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all colleagues and customers
  • Carry out installation, repairs, maintenance and plan operational duties, working with the various systems and reporting as requested
  • Likely to be involved with appliances such as small scale plant rooms, centralized heating boilers, gas heaters etc
  • Likely to visit customer premises, (commercial), to fit, service and repair boilers and centralized heating systems that have broken down
  • Assessing, dismantling, repairing or replacing relevant parts
  • Support the field service team and upkeep and maintain the various internal operational processes

Requirements:

  • Commercial Tickets-need either cocn1 or Codnco1
  • Commercial Catering Tickets - Highly Desirable
  • Domestic Gas Qualifications - Desirable
  • Experience working within commercial Environments
  • Driving licence
  • Ipaf & PASMA
  • OFTEC will be desirable
  • Multi-skilled experience within minor electrical / Fabric tasks

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all gas-related matters, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations
  • Conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance to all types of Commercial Boilers and Plant Room Equipment as per maintenance schedules
  • Attend reactive calls, diagnose faults, fit parts, and conduct repairs to boilers and ancillary mechanical systems, such as pumps, valves, pipework etc
  • Installation experience of replacement plant and components such as: Boilers, Burners, Pumps, Pressurisation units, Valves, Pressure Switches Automatic Air Vents etc. Installation Pipework to include safe isolation of systems repairs and modification. Ability to conduct repairs within communal areas to Radiators, valves, and pipework
  • Identify faults and report issues in a timely manner. Consulting with Suppliers to obtain the necessary replacement component costs to include labour requirements and submitting these to the Commercial Gas team as required
  • Complete digital records PPM’s planned works and reactive repairs for each task using Aston Group’s ACIMs software
  • Comply with safe working practices ensuring the safety of the workforce and public is always maintained
  • Liaise with all stakeholders as required to ensure a high-quality service is delivered and a high level of customer satisfaction is achieved
  • Responsible for the delivery of planned commitments to the client, ensuring agreed KPI’s and service levels are being met
