Randstad Senior Finance is currently partnering with a well-loved Australian retail brand based in the Bayside area. As they enter a critical phase of their financial calendar, we are seeking a sharp, agile Commercial Finance Analyst to join the team on an interim basis for the next 2–3 months. This is an ideal role for a candidate who enjoys the 'nitty-gritty' of financial modelling and thrives during the peak of the annual budgeting cycle. With an immediate start available, this position offers the chance to make a tangible impact on the strategic planning of a household name.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide end-to-end support for the annual budget process, ensuring data integrity and timely consolidation of departmental inputs
  • Take ownership of complex Excel-based budget templates, ensuring they are functional, accurate, and user-friendly for non-finance stakeholders
  • Assist with key aspects of the Group's cash flow forecasting, providing analysis on variances and identifying trends within the retail cycle
  • Perform ad-hoc commercial analysis to support decision-making, focusing on margin performance and operational expenditure
  • Work closely with department heads across the retail network to refine their forecasts and provide clarity on financial performance

Requirements

  • CA, CPA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a Commercial Analyst or FP&A role, ideally within the Retail or FMCG sectors
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (lookups, pivots, complex formulas, and basic VBA/Macros are highly regarded)
  • Experience with ERPs or dedicated planning tools (e.g., Netsuite, Anaplan, or Power BI) is an advantage
  • A proactive, no-fuss approach with the ability to deliver accurate work under tight deadlines
  • Must be comfortable working independently in a hybrid environment
