Job Description

We are recruiting a CLC Commercial Finance Director to provide strategic and commercial financial leadership across CLC’s divisions. Reporting to the Group CFO, this senior role will drive commercial insight, operational performance and financial control across a multi-site service business. A key priority will be leading CLC’s transition to Dynamics 365 F&O, strengthening systems, reporting and scalability. You will partner closely with divisional MDs to improve forecasting discipline, margin performance and working capital control.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the finance transition to Dynamics 365 F&O
  • Partner divisional MDs to drive commercial performance and decision-making
  • Lead margin analysis, contract profitability and commercial modelling
  • Oversee budgeting, reforecasting and forward order book discipline
  • Strengthen reporting accuracy, controls and month-end processes
  • Deliver actionable insight on divisional profitability and labour utilisation
  • Drive working capital performance (accrued income, debt, retentions, cash collection)
  • Support Group cash flow forecasting and financial planning
  • Provide financial leadership on M&A due diligence and integration
  • Lead and develop a high-performing commercial finance team

Requirements

  • Significant experience as a Commercial Finance Director, Head of Commercial Finance or equivalent senior finance leadership role
  • Strong commercial finance and management accounting expertise
  • Deep knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS 102 and revenue recognition in long-term and reactive works environments
  • Proven experience in working capital management (accrued income, aged debt, retentions)
  • Demonstrable experience supporting operational and commercial teams in a multi-site, service-led business
  • Strong experience in budgeting, reforecasting, financial modelling and business case development
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with senior non-finance leaders
  • Sector experience within property services, construction, maintenance or housing

  • Experience leading finance teams through system implementation or transformation

  • Provide proactive leadership for all operating forecast updates and deliver the annual operating plan (AOP) and strategic plan.
  • Provide finance leadership for a significant pipeline of new product launches and business development initiatives over the next 2–3 years.
  • Partner with Marketing Analytics to develop product models that forecast and optimize the price/volume relationship across the pharmaceutical portfolio to maintain or expand profitability.

  • Lead a cross-functional team to improve Canadian compounding profitability as part of a global initiative.
  • Serve as liaison with the Accounting CoE on new commercial models that may require outstanding accounting treatment.

  • Represent Finance on special task forces, cross-divisional teams, and working groups, including business development integration activities.
