This is a highly visible senior leadership role responsible for end‑to‑end commercial delivery, strengthening client partnerships, and driving revenue growth across EMJ’s sales and client services functions.
Job Responsibility:
Own and execute EMJ’s commercial strategy in alignment with growth objectives
Lead, inspire, and develop high‑performing Sales and Client Services teams
Drive new business acquisition and maximise existing client relationships through retention, upsell, and strategic partnerships
Ensure a seamless transition from sale to delivery with exceptional client experience at every touchpoint
Collaborate effectively with Editorial, Marketing, Design, and Operations teams to deliver commercially effective, high‑quality solutions
Identify and pursue new commercial opportunities including markets, products, formats, and partnerships
Establish robust commercial processes, forecasting, and performance management frameworks to support scalable growth
Requirements:
Proven experience in a senior commercial leadership role (Commercial Director, Sales Director, or equivalent)
Strong background in B2B sales, account management, and client services leadership
Experience in publishing, media, healthcare, life sciences, or related sectors preferred
Demonstrated success in growing revenue, managing large accounts, and developing new business
Excellent commercial acumen with strong negotiation, forecasting, and strategic planning skills
Ability to lead, coach, and develop high‑performing teams at scale
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, both internally and externally
