This role is critical to how we scale our EV delivery programmes. We need someone who genuinely enjoys bringing structure, clarity, and commercial rigour to complex contractor environments. You'll have real ownership over how our commercial processes work day-to-day, the autonomy to improve them, and the opportunity to build a high-performing team. If you're commercially sharp, pragmatic, and like working closely with delivery teams to solve problems, this is a role where you'll have visible impact very quickly.
Job Responsibility:
Own Commercial and Contract Administration - manage contract documentation, pricing structures, rates, purchase orders, and contractual compliance across national delivery programmes
Lead and Develop the Contracts Team - line manage two Contracts Coordinators, provide day-to-day direction, quality control, and coaching
Manage Contractor Invoices and Variations - review and process contractor invoices, applications for payment, and variations
Oversee Contractor Setup and Performance - lead onboarding and commercial setup of new contractors
Support Project Teams with Commercial Escalations - work closely with Project Managers to resolve contractor-related commercial issues
Support Supplier Sourcing and Negotiation - support sourcing of new contractors and suppliers, carry out commercial assessments, benchmarking rates
Maintain Financial Control and Reporting - oversee invoice accuracy and timely processing, support monthly reconciliation, provide clear commercial reporting
Requirements:
Strong background in commercial or contract administration within the construction, utilities or infrastructure space
Contractor and Supplier Management Expertise - solid understanding of contractor management, pricing structures, variations, and commercial governance, with experience onboarding and managing multiple suppliers
Financial Accuracy and Attention to Detail - highly organised, strong eye for detail, track record of managing invoices, applications for payment, and reconciliations accurately
Stakeholder Communication Skills - confident working with suppliers, Project Managers, finance teams, and senior stakeholders, able to explain commercial matters clearly and resolve issues professionally
People Leadership Capability - experience supervising, mentoring, or developing junior team members, with a collaborative and supportive leadership style
