Job Description

Our client, a global leader in the manufacturing, defense and aerospace industries is seeking a skilled commercial contracts manager to support their Sydney or Melbourne based team on an interim basis. Ideal candidates will have 6-10 years of contracts management experience, with exceptional stakeholder management skills and experience supporting on large construction or manufacturing projects.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage the contract lifecycle working closely with internal stakeholders, including sales, legal, and finance teams, to ensure the successful execution of contracts and compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations
  • Negotiate commercial terms driving successful business outcomes and mitigating legal risks
  • Maintain accurate and up to date contract records and documentation
  • Handle contract disputes and provide guidance on dispute resolution

Requirements

  • 6+ years of contracts management experience
  • Strong knowledge of contract law and commercial terms and conditions
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret terms and conditions
  • Attention to detail and ability to work across functions

  • Execute all commercial contractual obligations over the life of the contracts, with post-contract P&L responsibility on the dedicated account(s) covering revenue, margin, cost, and commercial risk and compliance management
  • Collaborate closely with the Customer Account Lead (CAL), providing recommendations for commercial strategy and supporting contract closure on new or renewal services
  • Provide commercial leadership as a strategic advisor to CALs and key stakeholders on managed accounts, producing internal executive briefings on commercial performance and recommendations on how to grow value and differentiate from competition
