Responsible for various tasks on construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and to the specified quality standards. General construction workers work under the supervision of skilled tradespeople and construction managers.
Job Responsibility:
Material Handling: Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment, and ensure they are stored safely
Demolition: Perform demolition work, such as dismantling structures and removing old materials
Framing: Help with framing tasks, including installing walls, roofs, and floors, and ensuring they are plumb and level
Carpentry: Perform basic carpentry tasks, such as measuring and cutting
Safety: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Equipment Operation: Operate construction equipment, such as power tools, forklifts, and small machinery, with proper training and certification
Clean-Up: Keep the construction site clean and organized by disposing of waste and debris and maintaining tools and equipment
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic knowledge of construction tools and techniques
Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects and work in varying weather conditions
Good communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to learn and follow instructions
OSHA certification or safety training is a plus
Valid driver's license (if required for the position)
Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime
Adherence to all local, state, and federal safety regulations
