T2M Resourcing are recruiting a Commercial Buying Analyst for a leading UK business based in the Southwest. This role is initially offered as a 15-month FTC which will likely become a permanent role for the right person. As Commercial Buying Analyst, you will work closely with both the Trading and Category teams, providing the insight that informs key negotiations and vendor decisions. Your expertise will be critical in identifying commercial opportunities and advising on the most effective approaches, tactics, and strategies to deliver the best outcomes. This role is ideal for someone passionate about commercial strategy who wants to make a meaningful, business-wide impact.

Job Responsibility:

  • The provision of data-led insights that help Trading teams identify and agree commercial opportunities
  • Use market data across commodities, currencies, and broader trends to support negotiations, validate costs, and strengthen commercial decision-making
  • Drawing on your understanding of negotiation principles, you’ll advise on strategies and tactics that support strong outcomes
  • Partner with Trading teams to support exceptional vendor agreements, influencing branded cost of sales spend
  • Challenge existing buying processes, uncovering opportunities for efficiency, effectiveness, and cost savings
  • Share knowledge across teams by leading workshops, developing templates, and embedding consistent approaches to buying and vendor management
  • Build strong relationships across the business, working closely with Category Managers, Finance Partners, and Commercial Operations

Requirements:

  • Ideally previous experience in Buying and/or commercial role within a sizeable business
  • Strong negotiation, influence skills
  • Experienced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint user, with excellent analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, a team player who uses initiative and diplomacy when liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of Project Management
  • Able to build strong internal relationships to deliver commercial improvement through others
