Job Description

Step into a high-impact Commercial Business Partner role at an operationally complex New Zealand business with a strong national footprint. This is a pivotal role within the finance team and wider company. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will act as business partner to strategically significant business units, providing insight and discipline to drive performance. The role exists to elevate financial decision-making across operations and support the delivery of key growth initiatives.

Job Responsibility

  • Act as lead Commercial Business Partner to strategic business units
  • Drive financial oversight and performance management across key growth initiatives and strategic projects
  • Own cost of sales performance across the network, partnering with teams to improve efficiency across labour, inventory and supplier rebates
  • Deliver strong cost control and financial discipline across variable and fixed manufacturing overheads, identifying continuous improvement opportunities
  • Lead accounting and financial reporting for cost of sales, including journals, month-end close, provisions, accruals and appropriate accounting treatment
  • Play an active role in the development and evaluation of business cases, and budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Deliver clear, insightful financial analysis and commentary to support decision-making at branch and leadership level

Requirements

  • CA qualified (CA ANZ or equivalent) with a minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insight
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Power BI or equivalent BI tool experience preferred
  • Proven track record of effective stakeholder engagement and influencing at a senior operational level
  • Experience in a manufacturing or operationally complex environment highly desirable
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and personable with strong attention to detail
