Job Responsibility

  • Analyse commercial performance across stores, online channels, and product categories, helping the business understand trading trends and identify opportunities to improve sales, margin, and customer outcomes
  • Own and deliver weekly commercial insight reporting for the leadership team, summarising key performance indicators including sales performance, margin, stock levels, customer trends, and profitability
  • Develop and maintain reporting solutions using Power BI, Jet Analytics, and Report Builder, ensuring reports remain accurate, visually clear, and aligned with business priorities
  • Delivering clear and reliable commercial reporting used by senior leadership to understand business performance
  • Supporting the transition to a modern reporting landscape as Business Central and associated reporting tools are introduced, helping ensure commercial reporting remains accurate during the transition from legacy systems
  • Communicating clearly and confidently with your team
  • Following health & safety procedures at all times
  • Making a difference every day to the customer experience

Requirements

  • Strong experience writing SQL queries to extract and analyse data from relational databases
  • Hands-on experience building dashboards and reporting solutions using Microsoft Power BI
  • Experience of working with Microsoft SQL Server and Azure-based data environments, alongside the broader Microsoft BI ecosystem
  • Previous experience in a BI, reporting, or analytics role, ideally within a retail or commercial environment
  • Strong understanding of retail KPIs such as like-for-like sales, margin analysis, stock turnover, and customer performance metrics
  • Excellent analytical thinking with the ability to turn complex datasets into clear commercial insights
  • Curious and analytical, with a genuine interest in understanding how data explains business performance
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to data accuracy and reporting quality
