Supporting a ever evolving and complex maritime program. The Commercial and Contract Advisory Officer will support and manage the strengthening of contract performance, governance and commercial assurance by providing disciplined contract outputs, proactive engagement with stakeholders and forward leaning commercial support consistent with ASDEFCON and Defence requirements. The officer ensures contract records, performance documentation and commercial processes are accurate, compliant and audit-ready, while actively supporting the program office to manage obligations and supplier performance.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain day-to-day administration of assigned contracts, including correspondence, registers, claims, deliverables and financial tracking
Support the development, implementation and maintenance of contract management frameworks, performance metrics and contract specific management plans
Monitor supplier performance against contractual KPIs, service levels, WHS, environmental and AIC obligations
Validate supplier self-assessments and contribute to formal performance and compliance reviews
Prepare briefs, status reports, performance summaries and commercial inputs for internal governance and stakeholder reviews
Assist in the drafting and coordination of contract variations and change proposals
Support risk assessments, contract issues management and commercial governance activities
Liaise with suppliers, engineering, logistics, finance and project staff to ensure commercial obligations and timelines are met
Ensure all work aligns with Defence policies, ASDEFCON, the DPPM, Australian Standards and Industry best practice
Requirements:
Minimum Advanced Diploma in business, commerce, procurement, contracting or a related field
Demonstrated Defence contracting or commercial experience supporting sustainment or acquisition programs
Proven practitioner level capability in ASDEFCON based contracts
Working knowledge of Australian Industry Capability (AIC) obligations and reporting requirements
Must hold a current security clearance
