At AO, our Commercial Finance team plays a key role in helping the business understand how we’re performing and where we can do better. From reporting and analytics to supporting day‑to‑day commercial decisions, this is a team that works closely with colleagues right across the business. Doing a placement at AO as a Commercial Analyst, you’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team and get exposure to lots of different areas of AO. You’ll be working closely with the wider Commercial team and reporting into our RP&A Manager, helping to deliver insight that really makes a difference. We’re a fast‑paced business that’s always evolving, so you’ll need to be comfortable adapting and thinking on your feet. At the same time, our finance cycles provide structure and routine, with clear weekly and monthly reporting timetables to work towards. This is a 13‑month placement designed for students completing a third‑year university placement, starting in June.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting the weekly and month‑end processes linked to departmental bonus calculations
  • Updating daily and weekly KPI packs to help track business performance
  • Using Excel to build new reports and maintain existing ones
  • Building strong working relationships with teams across the business
  • Helping to understand and explain the commercial performance of AO using data and insight

Requirements:

  • Currently studying a numerical or business‑related degree and are looking for a placement year
  • Comfortable working independently, as most of the role is home‑based
  • Strong communication skills and enjoy working with others
  • Experience using Excel and PowerPoint
  • Enjoy working with numbers and have a great eye for detail
