We have newly created roles for Commercial/Contract Administrators to join our Group Commercial division and support with this new, long-term contract. You'll be part of a collaborative team where you can confidently share your ideas, working from our modern Melbourne CBD office located across from Southern Cross Station. You will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Commercial Manager in the management of a state-wide defence contract covering multiple bases. You will be pivotal in ensuring that all commercial activities are conducted efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with contractual obligations and company policies.
Job Responsibility:
Preparing, reviewing, and submitting Contract Change Proposals & Survey & Quotes, ensuring all changes are accurately documented, justified, and approved in a timely manner
Maintaining and organising all contract-related documentation, including amendments, correspondence, and records of negotiations
Ensuring that all contract terms and conditions are adhered to and monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements
Assisting in tracking contract-related financials, including budgets, expenditures, and invoicing
Preparing regular reports on contract performance, highlighting any issues or areas for improvement
Acting as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding contract-related inquiries and issues
Identifying potential risks related to contract execution and proposing mitigation strategies
Assisting in the preparation of bids and proposals for new contracts or contract renewals
Requirements:
Prior experience in contract administration or a related field, preferably within the defence, construction or similar sector
Strong understanding of contract law and commercial terms
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in contract documentation and financial tracking
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
Strong analytical skills to interpret contract terms and financial data
Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Commerce, Law, or a related field would be highly desirable however not essential if you have significant demonstrable experience
Must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance
