Job Description

Combined Project Manager / Business Analyst with a leading Government client (consulting through FinXL). FinXL Professional Services is a leading IT consultancy that partners with clients to bridge the gap between business needs and technology capabilities. Since 2003, we've been delivering high-value ICT services across government, finance, telecommunications, and enterprise sectors. FinXL is seeking a Combined Project Manager / Business Analyst to join our consulting team and be deployed with a leading Government client on a 2 months contract in Brisbane.

Job Responsibility

  • Conduct current state assessments of existing scientific platforms
  • Define Project Briefs and Project Initiation Documents (PID) using PRINCE2
  • Gather functional and non-functional requirements from diverse stakeholders
  • Develop resource plans and detailed project schedules for the discovery phase
  • Review cloud hosting options and assist in drafting technical architecture plans
  • Manage risks and issues specifically related to security and compliance
  • Finalise future state plans and prioritized recommendations for board approval

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a dual PM/BA within cloud infrastructure or architecture
  • Strong technical literacy in AWS/Azure and API delivery
  • Experience with large-scale data projects, ideally involving geospatial data
  • Proficiency in PRINCE2 or similar structured project management methodologies
  • Expert stakeholder management skills across government and research sectors
  • Knowledge of security frameworks such as QGISCF or equivalent
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into business outcomes and roadmaps
