Job Description:

The Collibra Consultant role at NTT DATA requires a strong background in data governance and Collibra's products. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Responsibilities include implementing data governance solutions and collaborating with teams to ensure data quality. A master's degree is preferred.

Job Responsibility:

  • Data Catalog Management: Maintain and enhance the enterprise data catalog by onboarding new datasets, metadata, and data assets
  • Ensure datasets are properly documented with accurate metadata, ownership, classifications, and descriptions
  • Work with data owners and stewards to improve catalog completeness and usability
  • Business Glossary Administration: Develop and manage the business glossary, ensuring consistent definitions for business terms across the organization
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to standardize terminology and maintain alignment with data assets
  • Establish governance processes for term creation, approval, and lifecycle management
  • Workflow Management: Configure and manage data governance workflows including term approvals, asset onboarding, policy management, and stewardship activities
  • Monitor workflow execution and ensure timely approvals and escalations
  • Continuously improve workflow efficiency and governance processes
  • Create custom workflows as per requirement
  • Data Lineage Management: Capture, document, and maintain end-to-end data lineage from source systems through transformation to consumption layers
  • Support impact analysis for data changes and ensure traceability across data pipelines
  • Work closely with data engineering teams to validate lineage accuracy
  • Support impact analysis and root cause analysis by tracing upstream and downstream dependencies of critical data elements
  • Validate and reconcile automated lineage generated by governance or metadata tools with actual data pipelines and transformations
  • Debug and troubleshoot technical lineage issues, including incorrect or missing lineage relationships caused by ETL jobs, SQL transformations, data pipelines, or ingestion connectors
  • Work closely with data engineers and architects to investigate lineage breaks, resolve metadata ingestion problems, and ensure lineage accuracy
  • Edge Administration: Manage edge components or connectors that integrate external systems with the data governance platform
  • Configure and maintain connectivity between governance tools and source systems
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and ensure stable metadata ingestion
  • Data Governance Operations: Support the implementation and adoption of data governance policies, standards, and best practices
  • Partner with data stewards to improve data quality, ownership, and accountability
  • Provide training and support to business users on governance tools and processes
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with data owners, stewards, architects, and engineers to drive governance adoption
  • Support governance councils and working groups with insights and documentation
  • Assist in reporting governance metrics and maturity improvements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in data governance, metadata management, or data management roles
  • Hands-on experience with data catalog and governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Microsoft Purview, Informatica EDC, Atlan, etc.)
  • Strong experience with: Data catalog management
  • Business glossary creation and governance
  • Workflow configuration
  • Data lineage documentation
  • Metadata management
  • Experience supporting edge integrations or connectors for governance platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
