Job Description

We are recruiting for an outstanding Tutor to join our well established Education Team at Calman Colaiste (16-25 Specialist College). We require Tutor who can support our autistic and additional complex needs learners in one of the following areas: Independent Living Skills, Functional Learning or Vocational Learning. We offer exceptional and diverse teaching opportunities to support our learners and make their time at college meaningful, creating an inclusive learning environment where everyone feels valued and respects each other.

Job Responsibility

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships to promote the development and effective delivery of the college curriculum
  • Lead one designated area of the curriculum
  • Teaching students according to their educational needs
  • Creating a well-ordered and secure environment
  • Managing behaviour with confidence, resilience and perseverance
  • Ensuring careful and ongoing assessment of the students learning
  • Ensuring that tasks and activities are matched to the ability of the learners
  • Working with college leaders to complete and teach individual pupil plans
  • Liaising effectively with parents and a wide range of professionals
