Job Responsibility:

  • Provide first response to incidents across the College site
  • Assist Managers or appropriate College staff to adopt a collaborative problem-solving approach to highlighted issues
  • Implement de-escalation techniques and restorative justice
  • Act as Safeguarding Officer for assigned cases (in liaison with the Safeguarding team)
  • Gather evidence in relation to incidents and disclosures as per the Safeguarding policy

Requirements:

  • GCSE maths and English Language, or equivalent, at grade 4/C or above
  • Level 3 qualification in relevant subject area, e.g. Coaching, Health and Social Care, Youth Work
  • Experience of working with young people (including 14–19-year-olds) and vulnerable adults and those with challenging behaviour
  • Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults including Prevent and the Equality Act 2010
