As our College Community Support Officer, you will provide the first response to incidents across the College site, assist Managers or appropriate College staff to adopt a collaborative problem-solving approach to highlighted issues and to implement de-escalation techniques and restorative justice.
Job Responsibility:
Provide first response to incidents across the College site
Assist managers or appropriate College staff to adopt a collaborative problem-solving approach to highlighted issues, and to implement de-escalation techniques and restorative justice
Liaise with curriculum and support teams where appropriate to provide advice, guidance and holistic support to students and staff
Work in partnership with curriculum and support teams
to share information and regularly update to ensure the safety of our students
Promote positive behaviour in line with the College’s core values, attending referrals when required
Maintain accurate records and ensure they are entered onto the Safeguarding system in a timely manner and regularly updated
Requirements:
GCSE Maths and English Language or equivalent at C grade or above
Level 3 qualification in relevant subject area, e.g. Coaching, Health and Social Care, Youth Work
Microsoft applications, including a working knowledge of databases
Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults, including Prevent
Experience of working with young people (including 14-19 year olds) and vulnerable adults
Experience of working with challenging behaviour
The ability to deal with sensitive situations and work in a confidential manner
