The town of Easton is accepting applications for a qualified detailed oriented professional to fill the position of full time Collector/Treasurer. The Collector/Treasurer assists with managing the town’s financial operations including the functions of overseeing revenue/collection services, debt service, bond issuances, payroll system and employee benefits programs.
Job Responsibility:
Assist with managing the town’s financial operations
oversee revenue/collection services, debt service, bond issuances, payroll system and employee benefits programs
oversee certain financial operations including custody and management of funds, billing and collections, cash flow analysis, and fund management
prepare deposits, reconcile accounts, ensure compliance with state and federal reporting requirements
manage debt obligations
prepare budgets and financial forecasts
initiate tax liens and collections
administer employee payroll and benefits
supervise department staff
maintain accurate records
provide responsive service to taxpayers and external stakeholders
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, business management or related field
five years of experience in a municipal management position
two years of supervisory experience as a Collector/Treasurer
Massachusetts certification as a Collector and Treasurer is desired
