We are looking for a dedicated Collections Supervisor to lead and inspire a team of collections specialists in Overland Park, Kansas. This position requires a proactive leader who can manage daily operations, implement effective collection strategies, and ensure compliance with regulations while building strong relationships across departments. Job Responsibility:
Oversee and guide a team of collections specialists, including those within the Shared Service Center, ensuring efficient operations
Partner with other supervisors to reassign accounts to analysts based on industry alignment
Monitor daily collections activities, ensuring timely follow-up on delinquent accounts and proper reconciliation of invoices and chargebacks
Implement strategies to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and improve collection efficiency
Address escalated collection issues, negotiate payment arrangements, and resolve disputes
Generate detailed collection reports to track performance, identify trends, and prepare aging reports for management teams
Collaborate with sales, customer service, and legal teams to resolve disputes and streamline transaction processing
Ensure adherence to federal and state collection laws as well as internal credit policies
Conduct regular training sessions and performance evaluations to support team development
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or associate degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred
Minimum of 5 years of business experience, including at least 3 years in credit management with increasing responsibilities
Proven leadership and coaching abilities to effectively manage and develop a team
Experience within the consumer products industry is preferred
Familiarity with SAP and strong skills in collections and commercial credit
Excellent communication, organizational, and team-building skills
Capability to manage time effectively and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
Ability to challenge existing processes and propose solutions to improve efficiency.
