The Credit Collections Specialist is responsible for managing high-volume customer collections, resolving payment discrepancies, and maintaining accurate account records. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining positive customer relationships.
Job Responsibility:
Initiate and follow up on collection efforts through professional phone calls and written correspondence
Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers to resolve outstanding balances
Apply and reconcile customer payments, including checks, credit cards, and electronic transactions
Research and resolve payment discrepancies by collaborating with internal departments
Process account adjustments as needed while ensuring accuracy and compliance
Maintain organized and up-to-date customer files and documentation
Complete assigned tasks accurately and within established deadlines
Perform additional duties as needed to support overall business objectives
Requirements:
2–3 years of experience in accounts receivable or high-volume collections
Demonstrated experience managing a large customer portfolio
Prior experience in construction and/or new home building environments preferred
High school diploma required
college coursework in accounting or finance preferred
Strong work ethic with a high degree of professionalism and reliability
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
10-key by touch required
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a strong emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening
