Job Description:

The Credit Collections Specialist is responsible for managing high-volume customer collections, resolving payment discrepancies, and maintaining accurate account records. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining positive customer relationships.

Job Responsibility:

  • Initiate and follow up on collection efforts through professional phone calls and written correspondence
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers to resolve outstanding balances
  • Apply and reconcile customer payments, including checks, credit cards, and electronic transactions
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies by collaborating with internal departments
  • Process account adjustments as needed while ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date customer files and documentation
  • Complete assigned tasks accurately and within established deadlines
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support overall business objectives

Requirements:

  • 2–3 years of experience in accounts receivable or high-volume collections
  • Demonstrated experience managing a large customer portfolio
  • Prior experience in construction and/or new home building environments preferred
  • High school diploma required
  • college coursework in accounting or finance preferred
  • Strong work ethic with a high degree of professionalism and reliability
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • 10-key by touch required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a strong emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening
