We are looking for a dedicated Collections Specialist to join our team in Tonawanda, New York. In this Contract to permanent role, you will manage commercial accounts and work closely with clients to ensure timely and efficient collections. This position requires a strong ability to build relationships, analyze account information, and contribute to the overall success of the department.
Job Responsibility:
Manage a portfolio of 400-550 commercial accounts, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
Communicate directly with clients through written and verbal updates regarding account status
Conduct skip tracing to locate individuals and resolve outstanding claims
Collaborate with legal counsel on cases requiring further action
Participate in monthly departmental meetings and occasionally present updates
Contribute to team projects, contests, and office initiatives as needed
Engage in continuous skill development through training programs, seminars, and online courses
Foster positive working relationships within the team and department
Lead by example in work ethic and meeting performance standards
Assist in reviewing and improving departmental processes alongside management for enhanced efficiency
Requirements:
Previous experience in business-to-business (B2B) collections or related field
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client interaction
Proficiency in skip tracing methods and tools
Ability to manage a high volume of accounts while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Familiarity with legal processes related to collections is a plus
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
