Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Collections Specialist to join our team in Rancho Dominguez, California. This is a Contract-to-continuing position offering the opportunity to transition into a long-term role based on performance. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounts receivable and ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances. Join us in a dynamic environment within the food and food processing industry.

Job Responsibility:

Review customer accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
generate and analyze aging reports to monitor overdue balances and prioritize collection efforts
communicate effectively with clients to collect outstanding payments while maintaining positive relationships
assist with additional accounts receivable tasks as needed to support the finance team
evaluate creditworthiness and approve credit limits in alignment with company policies
document collection activities and maintain accurate records for reporting purposes
collaborate with internal teams to address payment disputes and improve collection processes
provide recommendations for improving credit and collection policies to enhance efficiency

Requirements:

Minimum of 1 year of experience in commercial collections or a related role
strong knowledge of aged receivables, credit analysis, and credit approvals
familiarity with commercial credit and collection practices
proficiency in running and interpreting aging reports
excellent communication and negotiation skills
ability to work independently while meeting deadlines
strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
