Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Collections Specialist to join our team in Eugene, Oregon. In this contract role, you will play a critical part in managing credit and collections processes for both commercial and consumer accounts. Your expertise in communication and billing will be key to ensuring timely and efficient resolution of outstanding balances.

Job Responsibility:

Manage and oversee collections processes for both commercial and consumer accounts
Communicate effectively with clients to resolve outstanding balances and negotiate payment arrangements
Utilize Microsoft Excel and Word to maintain organized records and generate reports
Monitor account statuses and identify overdue payments
Collaborate with internal teams to address billing discrepancies and ensure accurate invoicing
Implement strategies to improve recovery rates and minimize bad debt
Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in all collection activities
Provide regular updates and status reports on collection efforts to management
Research account histories to validate outstanding balances and payment obligations

Requirements:

Proven experience in commercial and consumer collections
Strong knowledge of credit and billing collection processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to negotiate effectively and manage challenging conversations
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Familiarity with regulatory standards related to collections
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
