We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our team in Concord, California. In this Contract to permanent position, you will be responsible for managing consumer collections accounts, ensuring timely payments, and delivering excellent communication with clients. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibility:
Handle assigned consumer collections accounts, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
Communicate effectively with clients to address payment issues and negotiate solutions
Utilize computer systems to track account activity and manage collections processes
Maintain a positive and detail-focused attitude while interacting with clients and team members
Adhere to established company procedures and guidelines for collections
Monitor accounts for discrepancies and escalate issues as necessary
Generate reports and updates on account statuses using basic Excel functions
Ensure consistent attendance and punctuality, adhering to the agreed-upon work schedule
Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives
Participate in training sessions to enhance collections and communication skills
Requirements:
Prior experience in commercial or consumer collections
training will be provided for candidates with related experience in banking, medical, or service industries
Strong verbal and written communication skills for business purposes
Ability to work independently as a self-starter with excellent time management
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including sorting and formatting data
Detail-oriented and positive attitude with consistent attendance habits
Ability to quickly learn and navigate computer programs related to collections
Familiarity with generating reports and analyzing account data
Commitment to adhering to company policies and maintaining a business casual appearance
