In the Collections role you will be responsible for calling members on delinquent accounts and assisting them in restoring good standing status with the institution. Job Responsibility

  • Handle inbound and outbound collections calls
  • Lead all billing and reporting activities according to deadlines
  • Handle all vendor inquiries
  • Maintain and update customer files to ensure data integrity
  • Call on all past due amounts and record all results in the system
  • Record all customer payments to the correct reports

Requirements

  • AA or BA/BS in Accounting or related
  • 1+ years of prior high volume collections experience
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge (PivotTables, V-Lookups) preferred
  • Prior experience using accounting software (QuickBooks or similar)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written and listening)
  • Great attention to detail
  • 2 recent supervisor or manager references

  • Enter and manage customer credit requests through the designated workflow system, ensuring approvals move forward in a timely manner
  • Issue approved credits, help reduce aging backlogs, and support related credit and rebill activity as business needs require
  • Record customer returns in the enterprise system through manual entry while maintaining accuracy and proper documentation
  • Work closely with internal departments and external business contacts to resolve questions related to balances, returns, deductions, and credit matters
  • Contribute to month-end close activities by making sure cash application, returns, deductions, and credit transactions are completed accurately and on schedule
