Job Description

We are looking for a Collections Specialist to support business-to-business accounts receivable activities for a growing team in Independence, Ohio. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who is confident communicating with customers, managing outstanding balances, and keeping account records accurate and up to date. The role combines direct collection efforts with administrative follow-through to help maintain healthy cash flow and strong customer account management.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage business-to-business collection efforts by contacting customers regarding past-due balances and working toward timely resolution
  • Maintain accurate customer account details by reviewing and updating records as needed
  • Track purchase order status and follow up with customers to obtain, confirm, or clarify outstanding PO information
  • Monitor open receivables and document collection activity, customer responses, and payment commitments
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to address billing questions and resolve account issues that may delay payment
  • Use company systems and tools to review account activity, record updates, and support daily collections workflows
  • Prioritize a high-volume workload while meeting deadlines and maintaining consistent follow-up with assigned accounts

Requirements

  • Previous experience in business-to-business collections is required
  • Working knowledge of collection practices, receivables follow-up, and account resolution processes
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers by phone, email, and other business channels
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to keep account and customer information current and accurate
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a structured Monday through Friday work environment
  • Proficiency with collection, billing, or accounts receivable systems
  • experience with internal software platforms is helpful
  • Participation in hiring process requirements, including candidate screening, is required
