We are looking for a Collections Specialist to support account recovery efforts for a organization in Omaha, Nebraska. This Long-term Contract position focuses on managing both commercial and consumer collections while helping maintain healthy cash flow and positive customer relationships. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in credit and billing collections, strong follow-through, and the ability to work accurately within structured collection processes.
Job Responsibility:
Manage assigned commercial and consumer accounts to secure timely payment and reduce outstanding balances.
Review aging reports, prioritize delinquent accounts, and carry out consistent follow-up through appropriate communication channels.
Investigate billing concerns and payment discrepancies by working with customers and internal partners to resolve issues efficiently.
Maintain accurate documentation of collection activity, customer interactions, and payment commitments in the designated system.
Apply established credit and collection procedures to support effective recovery efforts and minimize financial risk.
Monitor account status and escalate complex or high-risk cases when additional action is needed.
Support collection-related tasks within D365 and ensure records remain current and complete.
Contribute to process consistency by identifying gaps in workflows and helping improve day-to-day collection operations
Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience in collections, including work with commercial and consumer accounts.
Practical knowledge of credit and billing collection practices in a business environment that requires strong attention to detail.
Experience following structured collection processes while balancing accuracy and timeliness.
Familiarity with D365 or a similar system used to track collection activity and account details.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for managing customer conversations effectively.
Ability to analyze account information, identify issues, and determine appropriate next steps.
High attention to detail and solid organizational skills when handling multiple accounts and deadlines.
