We are looking for a dedicated Collections Specialist to join our team in New York, New York. As part of this role, you will manage both commercial and consumer accounts while ensuring timely and accurate credit collections. Job Responsibility:
Handle commercial and consumer account collections to recover outstanding balances
Monitor and manage credit accounts, ensuring payments are received within the specified timelines
Maintain accurate and organized records of collection activities and account statuses
Communicate effectively with clients to resolve billing disputes and negotiate payment arrangements
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies
Provide regular updates and reports on collection progress and account receivables
Utilize established collection processes to optimize recovery efforts and minimize overdue accounts
Address inquiries and concerns from clients related to billing and payment issues
Review and analyze account histories to determine appropriate collection strategies
Requirements:
Proven experience in commercial and consumer collections
Strong knowledge of credit and billing collection processes
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts simultaneously
Proficiency in maintaining detailed and accurate financial records
Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards
Strong analytical skills to assess account histories and payment trends
Experience in using collection management software is preferred
