Collections Specialist

• Process and evaluate customer credit applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Conduct credit reference checks to verify customer eligibility
• Set up and maintain customer banking information within accounting systems
• Keep customer accounts updated and accurately recorded in the system
• Make outbound collection calls to business clients, including contractors and small to mid-sized companies, to address outstanding balances
• Regularly review aging reports and follow up on overdue payments
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies by collaborating with relevant internal departments
• Ensure compliance with company policies while managing credit and collection tasks
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to facilitate payment resolutions

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in credit, collections, accounts receivable, or a related field
• Proven ability to handle high-volume outbound collection calls, preferably in a B2B environment
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage effectively with clients
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple accounts
• Proficiency in using accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment
• Demonstrates a detail-oriented approach with the ability to resolve conflicts and discrepancies

Experience in the construction or contracting industry is a plus
