As a Collections Operations Manager, you’ll play a critical leadership role in ensuring safe, efficient blood collection operations that directly support patients across the islands. Job Responsibility:
Promote and uphold Blood Bank of Hawaii’s mission, values, and organizational goals
Represent leadership to ensure productivity and quality standards are consistently met
Identify future operational needs and implement process improvements as appropriate
Oversee and monitor donor blood collection services to ensure efficiency and quality
Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Collaborate with donors, businesses, and the community to maximize donations and enhance customer experience
Monitor and manage operational expenses
Support development and implementation of procedures and process improvements
Partner with recruitment team to achieve donor collection goals
Assist in setting departmental and apheresis collection goals
Participate in production planning and oversee product quality control
Hire, train, and evaluate staff
conduct performance reviews
Track and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) monthly
Ensure staff have proper training, tools, and resources
Manage, coach, schedule, and support Collections Supervisors and staff
Investigate operational issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
Support employee development, succession planning, and ongoing training opportunities
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related field (preferred)
3–5 years of supervisory experience or 1–2 years of supervisory experience with a bachelor’s degree
Experience in a healthcare-related field (preferred)
Management experience in healthcare operations (preferred)
Blood banking experience (preferred)
Strong leadership and team management abilities
Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and proactive
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse individuals
High level of professionalism and customer service
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to follow and provide detailed instructions
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
