Our client, a leading Homeowners Association is seeking a 2 plus years' collection attorney to manage the recovery of delinquent accounts and represent clients in debt collection matters. The ideal candidate has strong litigation skills, deep knowledge of state and federal collection laws, and the ability to negotiate effective resolutions while ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical standards.
Job Responsibility:
File and prosecute collection lawsuits from inception through judgment
Appear in court for hearings, trials, and post-judgment proceedings
Negotiate settlements and payment arrangements with debtors and counsel
Enforce judgments through garnishments, levies, liens, and asset discovery
Ensure compliance with FDCPA, state collection laws, and court rules
Respond to debtor disputes and defend against collection-related claims
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active license and good standing with the Colorado bar
2+ years of experience in collections, creditor’s rights, or civil litigation
Strong understanding of FDCPA and applicable state laws
Proficiency in courtroom procedures, legal writing, and negotiation
Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently and effectively
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Nice to have:
Familiarity with post-judgment enforcement techniques is preferred
